It was January 16, 1996. We were at a basketball game, or was it volleyball? I was a freshman, he was a junior. We had "met" at the Stutznegger's New Years Eve Party and had a lot of fun together. We both had crushes on each other for a while and Rob finally took the first step w/ his note. On it he wrote "Will you go out with me?" and placed two boxes under Check Yes or No. He sure got teased about that one. Every time the George Strait song comes on we think back and just laugh.
"...Do you love me, do you want to be my friend? Well then don't be afraid to take me by the hand. I think this is how love goes. Check yes or no."
We just celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary last tuesday the 16th. We didn't do anything special that day but we did enjoy a wonderful night get away thanks to my parents. They watched the kids while Rob and I escaped to RPM raceway in Sac for the day, enjoyed a yummy dinner at P.F. Changs and spent the night at the Holiday Inn Express. (Nice hotel by the way!) The next day we did a small amount of shopping at Down East Outfitters, one of my new favorite places, and Costco. It was so great to unwind and not have any responsibilities for a day!!
We also had a lot of fun walking down memory lane. At dinner we each had to come up w/ memories we thought the other person might have forgotten about....like right after we were married we lived at my Grandma Papa's house and used to have picnics on the front lawn all the time. Rob gave me a beautiful card and I'll share the poem he wrote.
March 16, 2010:
4 moves, 3 college degrees, 1 RDA cert, 7 jobs, some unemployment, 1 house purchase, 4 vehicles purchase, 3 vehicles sold, 9 church callings, lots of vacations and trips, a few sunburns, a laparascopy, many trips to the Roseville Fertility Clinic, countless sunday afternoons w/ our families & in-laws, 2 handfuls but beautiful children....9 great years and you still love me. :)
I sure do love my hubby. He works very hard for our family and supports me in many things.
Here's a few fun pictures I found. Starting from high school and ending w/ our trip.
Cal Skate
In front of the Oakland Temple. I think this was either a youth trip or one of the guys going through for the first time before their mission.

I'm looking forward to an eternity of fun and laughter w/ this guy, and our kids too of course!
