So we've begun to tackle the front yard.
It's been a dry, dirty yard for long enough.
We have some ideas for some lawn sections,
a driveway across the yard from our existing driveway
to the side street,
and some projects to not only dress up the landscape, but also to break
up the vastness of the space, (since the lot is so dang big).

The tree was already there, we built the retaining wall this morning.

I saw this idea on a hillside here in town. Once the rest of our plans are done I think this will look nice. I didn't want to put a long retaining wall that ran the whole length of the yard...too expensive and too boring. This will spice things up a bit and is much more affordable.

The fun part was laying the first row of blocks. If they are level the next rows are a piece of cake. It took us an hour to lay the first row of 6 blocks, and 20 seconds to set the next row in place, ha.
