2009 Christmas Letter

Barth Family 2009 Summary

If you had told us the changes 2009 would bring to our household we couldn’t have prepared for such good times or such challenging times:

Rob no longer commutes to Paradise for Chase Bank.  In February they let him go and he has since found employment with Butte County Child Support Services; a huge change from the retail he’s been in for the last 8 years.  While learning a new job brings challenges, he finds the legal aspect interesting and sort of fun.  His mom has worked in the courts for 20+ yrs, so now they talk legal jargon all too oftenJ   We are very grateful that Rob was able to find employment in such a tough economy…and now he’s only 5 minutes from our house…yahoo!

Raeanne no longer works for Kearbey Dental Group in Oroville.  The dental field has felt the weight of the collapsing economy too; so she was laid off a few months ago.  She enjoys being home full time with our two wonderful kiddosJ

Our lives continue to be rich with fun and challenges as we raise our now 2 ½ yr old Owen.  He is so much fun, and such a wonderful boy.  Though he can be stubborn at times, he entertains us everyday with his expanding personality and language.  He’s learning new words all the time and we are sort of learning a new language as well; as we decipher what he comes up with, ha.

Laci joined us May 21st and hit the ground running…not literally of courseJ.  She has fit in so well and puts up with Owens exciting, rough play.  He adores her, but treats her as if she’s a lot bigger and stronger than she is…soon enough, however, she will give it back to himJ  Laci is a sweet, smiling, growling 6 month old Rob-look-alike.  She sure does love her daddy.  She stops what she’s doing and smiles at him whenever he comes into the room.

One of the highlights of our year was when we caravanned with the Parrott’s to St. George, Ut. to visit the Owen family.  Laci was only 2 months old; she and Owen handled the 11+ hr drive each way very well.  Owen loved spending time with his cousins.  They played at a giant indoor bounce-house and indoor water park which was especially enjoyable since we happened to be there during their hottest week of the summerJ.

We are grateful for the many wonderful blessings the Lord has given us and we pray that your family recognized His influence in your lives as well.

Have a joyous Holiday Season; Merry Christmas!
May your home be filled with Joy and Laughter.
Love, Rob, Raeanne, Owen & Laci Barth
