About nine years ago Rob volunteered for the El Medio Fire Department. It was just after his mission and a few months before we got married, so he had time for it:)
This picture has been up on his mom's refrigerator all these years; it's from a day when an old town fruit stand had to be destroyed, so it served as a training burn for the local firefighters.
Rob is the one in the very front of these four men, holding the fire hose.
He said the heat was very intense, even with all the gear on. And the pressure of the water coming out of the hose took more than one guy to hold it still.

Holy Cow, I totally remember that fruit stand, and was so ticked off when they set it to fire! I went there all the time with my grandma when I was little. Sure miss that place. That aside, good job rob.
