We've been talking about it, we thought a lot about it, and we finally did it...
we planted our own garden.
Rob had some time off this week so he and Dad rototilled a spot and trucked in some manure in Old Nelly.

For anyone that has ever dug in Oroville you know how rocky the ground is here.
Well, these rocks are the majority of what Dad and Rob
harvested while rototilling the area for our garden.
We planted Tomatoes, Bell Peppers, Green Beans, Zucchini Squash,
Yellow Summer Sqaush, and Beets. Mmm, can't wait to eat:)
By request here are some shots of Old Nelly.
These are not pictures of Dad's old Ford from the day we did our garden. We did not put our garden in the front of the house...
however this is a typical picture of Dad working hard and Old Nelly working just as hard as you see her here with a bed full of manure.

that is so great! reminds me of when your dad came down and helped us with our backyard last year. we had truck loads of dirt/rock/calechi to haul away. wish we could maintain a garden but not is 120*+ heat. good luck!

I am secretly glad that old Nelly is still around, you should post a pic on the blog. :)I think it's great you have a garden. That is something I've always wished I could get in to! Vegas is not the best place to have one, esp. w/our lovely backyard of fake grass!
